Performing a Search (Enhanced Mode)

You must have the Access Enhanced UI capability to view this page. This topic discusses how to use the Enhanced Search page to perform a search.

Note: You must select the Show results in Enhanced Mode option on the Tagging Engine Preferences page to view the Search page in Enhanced Mode.

To perform a search, do one of the following:

The search results appear on the Items tab and People tab. If the search results do not immediately display what you are looking for and you do not want to look through multiple pages, consider drilling down within your search results. You can also sort items and sort people in your search results.

Execute the search query.

Clear

Clear the current search query from the search box.

Submit a Document

Submit a document or Web page to the Knowledge Directory.

 

Preferences

Launch the Tagging Engine Preferences page. For details, see Setting Tagging Engine Preferences.

Select one of the following:

  • Everyone's Tags: You must have the View Everyone's Tags capability to have an Everyone's Tags view. Display tags that anyone has applied to items and people.

  • My Tags: You must have the View My Tags capability to have a My Tags view. Display only tags that you have applied to items and people.

  • Favorites & Contacts: You must have the Add Favorites and Contacts capability to have a Favorites & Contacts view.  View your favorites and contacts on the Items and People tabs.

  • (If available) Select a Custom view or Prescribed view (names of views vary).

  • (If available) Click or next to the Custom view or Prescribed view that you want to edit or delete.

    Note:
    When you delete a Prescribed view, it is deleted for all subscribers of the view. You can only delete Prescribed views that you create.

  • (If available) New View...: Display the View Editor, which lets you create a Custom view or Prescribed view.

Items

Display search results on the Items tab.

People

Display search results on the People tab.
