Note: You must install Oracle WebCenter Content Service for Lotus Notes to access this functionality.

To specify main settings for the Lotus Notes content source:

1. Crawlers only import links to documents; the documents themselves are left in their original locations. Under URL Type, specify what happens when users follow these links:

   • By default, the content crawlers that access this content source use the gateway to open documents. When users click a link to an associated document, they are redirected to a URL (generated from the settings in your portal configuration file) that, in turn, displays the document. This allows users to view documents they might not otherwise be able to view, either due to security on the source repository or firewall restrictions. If you want your users to be able to view documents even when they are not connected to your network, you should leave this setting at its default.

   • If you want instead to direct users to the network path of the document, choose Does not use the gateway to open documents. Be warned, however, that with this option, even users with access to this content source's documents will not be able to open the documents if they are not connected to your network.

2. If this content source uses the gateway, under Choose Web Service, you see the name of the content Web service associated with this content source. To edit this content Web service, click its name.

3. Under Authentication Page, type the password for the Lotus Notes user used for this content service (this is the user whose client user ID is set on the Lotus Notes client installed on the computer that hosts the Lotus Notes content service software).

Use the following controls to select and configure settings for the Lotus Notes database that is the back-end server for this remote content source:

• Server. Select a Domino server from the drop-down list.
• URL. If you want users to be able to click through to Notes via an HTTP connection to the Domino Server, enable HTTP on the Domino Server and enter the fully qualified URL for the server, for example http://host.domain.com. If you plan to have users click through to Notes documents using the Lotus Notes client, leave this field blank.
• Delay Between Requests (ms). We recommend you run content crawler jobs when the majority of users are not accessing the Lotus Notes back-end server. If you do so, you can set the Delay Between Requests to 0 to allow crawl requests to process as fast as possible. If you run content crawler jobs during hours in which users also make requests to the Lotus Notes back-end server, you can set a delay, in milliseconds, for the content crawler to pause between crawl requests. These small pauses enable the Lotus Notes server to handle requests from users along with the content crawler requests.
