Note: You must install Oracle WebCenter Content Service for Documentum to access this functionality.
To specify how the portal should connect to Documentum and whether this content source uses the gateway:
Under Web Service you see the content crawler Web service you associated with this content source as well as the location of the Web service. To edit the associated Web service, click its name.
Content crawlers only import links to documents; the documents themselves are left in their original locations. Since the Documentum client is required to access files in Documentum, under URL Type you must leave the default selection - Use the Gateway to open documents.
When users click a link to an associated document, they are redirected to a URL (generated from the settings in your portal configuration file) that, in turn, displays the document. This allows users to view documents they might not otherwise be able to view, either due to security on the source repository or firewall restrictions.
Under Documentum - Login Information specify how the portal should connect to Documentum:
In the Docbase drop-down list, choose the Docbase this content source should access.
In the User Name box, type the name of the user the portal should use to access this Docbase.
In the Password box, type the password for the user you specified in step 2.
In the Confirm box, type the same password you specified in step 3.
In the Domain box, type the domain that includes the user you specified in step 2.
