To specify whether this content source uses the gateway and to edit this content source's associated content Web service:

1. Under Web Service, you see the name of the content Web service associated with this content source. To edit this content Web service, click its name.

2. Under URL Type, specify what happens when users follow document links:

• By default, this content source uses the gateway to open documents. When users click a link to an associated document, they are redirected to a URL (generated from the settings in your portal configuration file) that, in turn, displays the document. This allows users to view documents they might not otherwise be able to view, either due to security on the source repository or firewall restrictions. If you want your users to be able to view documents even when they are not connected to your network, you should leave this setting at its default.

• If you want instead to direct users to the network path of the document, choose Does not use the Gateway to open documents. Be warned, however, that with this option, even users with access to this content source's documents will not be able to open the documents if they are not connected to your network.

3. Under UCM Connection Information, specify the server name, port, and user name for content crawlers that use this content source:

1. In the UCM Server box, type the name of the computer that hosts Oracle Universal Content Management.

2. In the UCM Server Rdic Port box, type the Rdic port number for Oracle Universal Content Management. This is typically 4444.

3. In the Crawler Username box, type the name of the user that this content source will impersonate to crawl content.

2. Open the Remote Content Source Editor:
• To create a new remote content source:
1. Open an administrative folder.
2. In the Create Object menu, click Content Source - Remote.
3. In the Choose Web Service dialog box, select the appropriate web service and click OK.
• To edit an existing remote content source:
1. Navigate to the remote content source you want to edit.
2. Click the remote content source name.
